SB Partners Education Scholarship 2025

Are you a Burlington high school student studying accounting, business, or commerce at the post-secondary level in the fall of 2025? Nominations are open for the 2025 SB Partners Education Scholarship.

The SB Partners Education Scholarship could help make this a reality! With the cost of tuition rising, the need for financial support is greater than ever.

Annually since 2004, SB Partners has been awarding a Burlington high school student with a one-time scholarship to support their post-secondary education. In 2025, the scholarship value is $5,000.

To apply for the scholarship, students can nominate themselves or be nominated by a member of the community (parent, teacher, neighbour, peer, etc).

Applications are due by midnight on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 and can be submitted in the form of a written or video essay. These submissions should include the reason for the nomination, how the scholarship would help the nominee to achieve success, and outline their academic and community efforts.

This is a one-time scholarship, managed and granted through the Burlington Foundation, and is paid directly to the university/college following the establishment’s scholarship regulations.

Scholarship Eligibility

Applicant or Nominee must:

  • be a graduating Grade 12 student at a Burlington high school
  • be studying accounting, business, and finance at a post-secondary level in fall 2025
  • demonstrate evidence of volunteerism and good civic engagement throughout their high school career
  • be a role model who inspires others through their leadership and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Terms & Conditions

Recipient receives a one-time $5,000 scholarship (paid directly to university/college) and granted through the Burlington Foundation.

  1. To be eligible to apply for the SB Partners Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  2. Applicant must be a graduating high school student attending College/University full-time in 2025.
  3. Applicant must be pursuing an accounting (CPA), business, or commerce degree/diploma.
  4. Applicant must demonstrate evidence of volunteerism and good civic engagement in the year prior to applying for the scholarship; and

Applicants may submit their applications online through the designated online application form and upload all necessary supporting documents/videos on or before Midnight on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025. All applications will be screened by our selection panel which reserves all rights to make final decisions on awarding scholarships based on the established criteria and procedures.

A selection committee will review all applications according to predetermined criteria which includes but are not limited to: academic achievement, community involvement and volunteer activities, personal qualities such as leadership, communication skills, unique talents, or special interests etc., completeness of application forms, as well as conformance with eligibility requirements set forth in these rules. The selection committee will then select a recipient based on these criteria and offer them a one-time $5,000 scholarship from SB Partners (paid directly to university/college). The decision made by the selection committee is final and no appeals can be made against it by applicants or their guardians/parents/sponsors after its announcement.

The selected recipient will receive a one-time $5,000 scholarship paid directly to the university or college the student is enrolled. For the funds to be disbursed, the scholarship recipient must provide their full name, address, the name and program of the school they are attending and post-secondary student number. The funds will be paid to the university or college following their scholarship rules. Please speak to the registrar’s office to find out the terms that apply to your institution.

All applicants agree to accept these terms and conditions including that their name and photograph can be used by SB Partners, Burlington Foundation and Dare to Be You Youth Charity for promotional purposes without payment or compensation being due either now or at any future time unless otherwise agreed upon in writing between both parties involved at that time as part of a separate contract agreement between them pertaining specifically thereto. In addition, all applicants also agree not to hold SB Partners, Dare to be You Youth Charity or the Burlington Foundation liable for any damages arising out of use of their name or photograph resulting from compliance with these rules.

SB Partners reserves absolute right to terminate, amend, modify or waive any part or portions of these rules at any time without providing notice thereof, including but not limited too extending deadline dates, modifying application form content, revising selection criteria, revising disbursement schedules, changing amount awarded per recipient etc., subject only to reasonable notice provisions being provided whenever practical under applicable laws.

January 30, 2025– Scholarship open to applicants

April 30th, 2025 – applications will not be accepted after Midnight.
May 9, 2024 – Shortlist of applications confirmed

Week of May 12, 2025 – High school is contacted to confirm eligibility and references checked for shortlisted applicants

Week of May 19, 2025 – Scholarship Recipient Confirmed
June 2025 -Scholarship to be presented to the winner at their high school convocation by SB Partners and/or the Burlington Foundation.
