“The success of your business depends as much on your people as it does your clients. Support, develop, and invest in your people to strengthen your business.” Dana Wade

Dana Wade, Senior Manager, HR Consulting

With nearly a decade of experience in Human Resources, Dana has worked across a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, retail, medical, finance, and non-profits. From being the 7th hire at a startup to navigating HR for organizations with thousands of employees, she understands the unique challenges businesses face at every stage.

Dana’s experience spans both unionized and non-unionized environments, and she has supported retail franchisees in maintaining compliance with both legal regulations and corporate expectations. No matter the setting, her approach remains the same: HR isn’t just about policies and procedures – it’s about people.

Her career started in Social Services, driven by a passion for helping others. However, she quickly realized that real change happens when you have a seat at the table. That’s what led her to HR – a field that bridges the gap between business strategy and employee well-being. Dana’s experience has led her to understand that HR is about finding the right balance – businesses thrive when their people do.

A fan of tennis, swimming, and singing with the windows down, when Dana is not helping businesses build stronger workplaces, you’ll find her reading, spending time with her cats and dog, or enjoying the lake—no matter the season.

Frequently Asked Questions About HR Management

HR plays a critical role in aligning talent with company goals, driving employee development, and managing performance to ensure a skilled, motivated, and productive workforce. It also facilitates change management, helping organizations navigate transitions smoothly. Through strategic workforce planning and data-driven decision-making, HR creates a competitive advantage, ensuring adaptability and positioning businesses for long-term success.

While your business may have operated without dedicated HR, the responsibilities still exist—often falling on other leaders or being overlooked entirely.

Without structured HR support:

  • Business efficiencies may be missed.
  • Leaders may handle HR inconsistently, leading to workplace inequities.
  • Untrained managers may unknowingly put the company at risk.

Over time, operating without HR often results in retention challenges, toxic work environments, and potential legal issues. Investing in HR helps mitigate these risks and supports long-term stability.

Not necessarily, that’s where we come in. We assess your current practices and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance, and overall workplace effectiveness.

Absolutely. Even with in-house HR, businesses benefit from consultants who bring specialized expertise, assist with large projects, and offer a strategic perspective. We can also provide extra support when your HR team is stretched thin.

Not necessarily. We provide recommendations based on best practices, but you decide what to implement. Our suggestions can range from foundational policies to structured hiring processes and long-term strategic HR planning.

Not at all. Our services are flexible; whether you need quick answers to a few HR questions or ongoing support for long-term initiatives, we tailor our approach to your needs.

As consultants, we typically work alongside your leadership team rather than serving as full-time HR staff. We find that fractional HR support – ranging from 4 to 8 hours per week – meets most clients needs effectively. We can explore the right level of support during our discovery meeting.

Yes! We offer on-site support for projects and fractional HR services as needed.

The cost-effectiveness of HR consulting depends on your specific needs. During our discovery meeting, we’ll assess your requirements and provide tailored recommendations to ensure the best value for your business.
